- Listen to the whole answer.
- Keep an open mind.
- Let them finish before you add to your question.
For teachers
This tool goes with Unit 1, Lesson 4 of the Year 4 Inspire Computing student book. Use it to prepare for the class interview, before pupils write their own questions.
- Before the screen: practise with an easy topic. Pairs interview each other about a favourite hobby: one listens well, then one interrupts. Ask how each felt.
- The real interview should remain a real conversation. Choose the person with care and prepare them for the questions.
- Exit question: write two ways you can show respect to the person you are interviewing.
- Every card was written for this tool. Nothing is saved or sent anywhere.
More to try
- Write three respectful questions of your own.
- Choose a "not respectful" question and rewrite it so that it is respectful.
